Animal Encounters

Logan and I went with my sisters and mom to Hogle Zoo today. We had an excellent time! There were lots of new animals. Such as the polar bear, grizzlies, otters and seals! They were all so neat to see! Logan was so good the whole time! I'm sure he loved it as much as me! ( if that's possible? I love the zoo...) he will soon! I decided to add a baby elephant and a little monkey type thing ( see picture) to my wish list. They are in the process of building a new exhibit for the giraffes and one for a lion!
I. Want. The end.

Love me one!
Can't wait! It was the perfect day today. We had lots of fun! Good memories!

Missionary homecoming!

Jonathan seeing Logan for the first time

Wow, two years went by fast! My "little brother" ( he's only 18 months younger) is back home from serving in Arcadia California. Every Monday for two years I watched my mom wait to get an email from him. It was the highlight of our family's day. He returned home this past Monday. We had all of our family waiting at the airport to greet him. It was a wonderful event. He has not changed a bit! Maybe he's a wee bit taller but that's it. He left the home as a missionary, and returned as an uncle as well! He's quite fond of Logan already. Jonathan thinks he looks just like him. Of course he would. Logan is so darn cute and Jonathan thinks highly of himself, to say the least. Jk haha. A lot has changed since he left. We stripped all the ugly wallpaper off my parents walls, and replaced it with a nice earth tone color. My parents replaced all their couches and got rid of two ugly pink chairs that my dad seemed to love. No one knows why! Jonathan also came home to a new bed. He says we all changed as well. I think he has had the biggest change of all. He is so different but in a very good way. We love having him home. I had to teach him how to use a smart phone. He's getting the hang of it. Our family is complete for now. It's wonderful to be so close and feel so much love for each other. We only have the rest of our lives now to be together! We're glad you're home brother!

First Times

Alright, since this is my first time blogging ( scary!) I really don't know what I'm doing yet. So I decided that I'll start off by blogging about "firsts". I was inspired to start a blog from seeing all my friends blogs. I really enjoy reading them. I also have been horrible at writing in my journal lately and maybe this with help me write about life better. Most, if not everyone, knows we had our first baby in April. He has been an adventure from day one. I think most women would agree that pregnancy is an adventure. For me, it wasn't too different from my every day normal life. Besides worse heartburn, a bigger mid-section and occasional Charley-horses, life was the pretty much the same. I've heard the first time having a baby can be the hardest. I believe because I was blessed with such an easy pregnancy, that labor and delivery had it out for me. The adventure of parenthood started there. Since that day, we have done many "firsts" together! We have had a summer full of fun and sun! This summer has taken us to the Uintahs ( first time camping as a family ever!), Bear Lake ,Lagoon,  24th of July Parade and 4th of July fireworks. Logan has enjoyed every minute of it, as we have too. Traveling has had its ups and downs. Spending the night outside of home takes a toll on Logan's sleeping schedule. He normally sleeps 7-10 hours a night. When he was born, we pulled our first all- nighters for a while. So we are really grateful to have an awesome sleeper now! Our first summer with a baby has definitely been different. We have to adjust everything to bring him along. But all the memories we've created have made every second worth it! This new journey called parenthood is the hardest but most rewarding experience ever! I hope I get the hang of blogging soon and that it is somewhat interesting to our readers. We love our friends and family and hope you enjoy getting to know us better!
