Logan: Six months and going strong!

Only six months and already getting in my purse...
I can't get over his eye lashes!
 Boys are messy eaters.
 After the  pumpkin patch!
We have to improvise because he can't sit up yet.
Here he is at six months!

Our little Logan doesn't seem so little anymore. He is crawling! Let's just say, he is all over the place. At six months old, he is crawling, eating solids really well, cutting his first tooth(for real this time!), drooling, standing really well, eating everything!, and learning to use a sippy cup.Though he has not mastered sitting up yet. Needless to say, he is a lot of fun! He is a truly happy baby! I feel this post will be short but I thought a little update was needed. Enjoy the pictures. They say more than I ever could.

Terrible Teething and Ornery Baby...

Logan is about 5 1/2 months now. Its no surprise to me that he is teething but I had no idea that he was. Logan has been an excellent baby from birth. I have been rather lucky in that way. I couldn't ask for a better baby. This is all well and good but I was spoiled. He has been good up until last week when almost over night he started crying and acting ornery. It wasn't like him. I couldn't rock him to even calm him down. I checked for teeth but I couldn't see any! Hmmm, I had no idea why then he was acting so upset. So to make sure nothing was wrong, I took him to an instacare. There, the doctor showed me a little white speckle on his lower, right gum. That's his tooth?!? Oh, well, I'm a first time mom. What do I know?? So that tiny thing is what is causing him to act this way? Darn, I was so hoping to prolong teething. But since it's here, i'm doing what I can to help him. I think I'm having a harder time than him! I didn't have a crying baby until now. I get frustrated easier and have a difficult time learning patience. I admire mothers with crying babies! It's hard! So amidst all the new emotions, I'm loving him more than ever! He has grown so much! He is now almost 16.lbs and 27inches. Though he does still fit ( kinda snugly but still fitting) into his 3 month clothes. I'm having a hard time parting with them. So I occasionally throw one on him, even though I have 6 month clothes for him. He is growing too fast out of everything! I just upgraded the nipples on his bottles (again) and his binkys. Where did my newborn go?? This stage is so fun though. He is on the verge of crawling even though he can't sit up yet?? He's backwards I think...He grabs everything, including my hair, and puts it into his mouth. He is giggling, smiling, cooing, farting, all that baby jazz! Even at 2 in the morning he still is an angel. We started solids a couple weeks ago. So far it's going great! He sneezed every now and again while eating. I need a mask! He like bananas and pears but made a sour face with applesauce. We have lots more flavors to go!  I am looking forward to every day! There is always something new with him. I don't know if I can keep up but I'll have to!

5 Month Old Tales and a 3rd Anni!

So last weekend Tyler and I spent our third anniversary down in Park City. We left Logan with my parents. It was very hard to leave but it was a great break! We stayed in the Park City Peaks Hotel. It was a pretty nice place. The room was rather small but we had a king bed to make up for it. Park City is beautiful this time of year! The leaves are amazing! We visited the Olympic Park hoping to do one of the activities but found them to way too pricey! So we just enjoyed the view and watched the skiers go off the jumps into the water. We spent part of the day Saturday walking down historic Main Street. We found some gorgeous paintings in the art galleries! If I had $35,000 I would have come home with one. Ya, that much and more! Oh we could have spent tons of $$$$ if we had it! The stores are filled with everything!

The restaurants were fascinating! They'd be down some stairs and a long ally or up on top of a building. We finally settled on a place to eat call Buena Vita, an Italian restaurant. We had the whole patio to ourselves pretty much since people don't go out until 7 or so, apparently. It felt like an authentic Italian restaurant. Waiters and all!

So for the 3rd anniversary, the gift that is given is leather. Well, all I can say is they picked an expensive gift for the 3rd! We're still not rich so we went a little cheaper for gifts. Tyler got me a skirt, LOST and face masks! Hence, we ended up using them. I smeared on the peal off kind on Tyler's face. I just wanted him to experience his face feeling like it's peeling off. I thought I was getting the nice, relaxing kind. It turned out to be a clay type kind and it hardened like a rock! That's karma for ya. He was a good sport to do that with me! Overall, it was a fun little getaway. We were happy to be back with our little baby!

 Skiing at the Olympic Park

Eating din din at Buona Vita.
 Yum! Parmesean chicken and alfredo.
 That's just salmon and noodles.
 Our lovely room!

Now, about our  5 month old! I can't believe he's already five months old! He is getting so big! He weighed in at 15 lbs 4 oz last week and 26.5 inches. He is one rolling machine!  He gets across the room in no time! I can't take my eyes off him very long because he rolls into everything! I really think he will crawl before he sits up. All he wants to do is stand or roll. I don't think he likes his bum much. Once he's on his belly, he's scooting his knees up under him pushing himself forward. It's fun to watch! He's a handful but so cute! He giggles all the time at anything and everything! I feel so grateful to have such a great baby. He is sleeping sooo good for us. We also just started him on cereal. He is still getting the hang of a spoon and swallowing but he knows he likes it! Between bigger messes in the diaper and cereal all over his face and hands, its going to be a fun adventure! Being a mom is the best!

Animal Encounters

Logan and I went with my sisters and mom to Hogle Zoo today. We had an excellent time! There were lots of new animals. Such as the polar bear, grizzlies, otters and seals! They were all so neat to see! Logan was so good the whole time! I'm sure he loved it as much as me! ( if that's possible? I love the zoo...) he will soon! I decided to add a baby elephant and a little monkey type thing ( see picture) to my wish list. They are in the process of building a new exhibit for the giraffes and one for a lion!
I. Want. The end.

Love me one!
Can't wait! It was the perfect day today. We had lots of fun! Good memories!

Missionary homecoming!

Jonathan seeing Logan for the first time

Wow, two years went by fast! My "little brother" ( he's only 18 months younger) is back home from serving in Arcadia California. Every Monday for two years I watched my mom wait to get an email from him. It was the highlight of our family's day. He returned home this past Monday. We had all of our family waiting at the airport to greet him. It was a wonderful event. He has not changed a bit! Maybe he's a wee bit taller but that's it. He left the home as a missionary, and returned as an uncle as well! He's quite fond of Logan already. Jonathan thinks he looks just like him. Of course he would. Logan is so darn cute and Jonathan thinks highly of himself, to say the least. Jk haha. A lot has changed since he left. We stripped all the ugly wallpaper off my parents walls, and replaced it with a nice earth tone color. My parents replaced all their couches and got rid of two ugly pink chairs that my dad seemed to love. No one knows why! Jonathan also came home to a new bed. He says we all changed as well. I think he has had the biggest change of all. He is so different but in a very good way. We love having him home. I had to teach him how to use a smart phone. He's getting the hang of it. Our family is complete for now. It's wonderful to be so close and feel so much love for each other. We only have the rest of our lives now to be together! We're glad you're home brother!

First Times

Alright, since this is my first time blogging ( scary!) I really don't know what I'm doing yet. So I decided that I'll start off by blogging about "firsts". I was inspired to start a blog from seeing all my friends blogs. I really enjoy reading them. I also have been horrible at writing in my journal lately and maybe this with help me write about life better. Most, if not everyone, knows we had our first baby in April. He has been an adventure from day one. I think most women would agree that pregnancy is an adventure. For me, it wasn't too different from my every day normal life. Besides worse heartburn, a bigger mid-section and occasional Charley-horses, life was the pretty much the same. I've heard the first time having a baby can be the hardest. I believe because I was blessed with such an easy pregnancy, that labor and delivery had it out for me. The adventure of parenthood started there. Since that day, we have done many "firsts" together! We have had a summer full of fun and sun! This summer has taken us to the Uintahs ( first time camping as a family ever!), Bear Lake ,Lagoon,  24th of July Parade and 4th of July fireworks. Logan has enjoyed every minute of it, as we have too. Traveling has had its ups and downs. Spending the night outside of home takes a toll on Logan's sleeping schedule. He normally sleeps 7-10 hours a night. When he was born, we pulled our first all- nighters for a while. So we are really grateful to have an awesome sleeper now! Our first summer with a baby has definitely been different. We have to adjust everything to bring him along. But all the memories we've created have made every second worth it! This new journey called parenthood is the hardest but most rewarding experience ever! I hope I get the hang of blogging soon and that it is somewhat interesting to our readers. We love our friends and family and hope you enjoy getting to know us better!
